You can now delegate access to individuals to support the completion of application tasks in ResearchNet!

After consulting with the community, CIHR has implemented a new optional Manage Access task in ResearchNet allowing Nominated Principal Applicants (NPAs) to delegate access to their application easily and securely to a set number of individuals. A maximum of 5 delegates can gain access at any one time.

We encourage NPAs to use this new feature to facilitate collaboration within their teams and make their workloads more manageable, while safeguarding their private information. The Manage Access task will be available for most CIHR competitions.

It remains the sole responsibility of the NPA to submit their proposal, and thus NPAs will be responsible for reviewing changes made by delegates and removing delegates' access prior to submission. Delegates will not have access to the NPAs' Self-Identification Questionnaire information, cannot access the NPA's current, completed, or inactive activities in which they are not delegated, and cannot add additional delegates.

Please consult the Frequently Asked Questions for more information on how to complete the Manage Access Task.

This update is the latest step CIHR is taking to safeguard our systems and protect our users’ privacy and personal information. Other security measures will follow.

Not all funding opportunities will offer the Manage Access task. The task will be enabled based on appropriateness of individual funding opportunity requirements. Please refer to the How to Apply section of the funding opportunity for more information.
